You can now take your coffee-drinking experience to astronomical heights.

Starbucks in South Korea has unveiled a ‘Meteor’ drinkware collection of tumblers, mugs, and thermos, and more, that will leave you starry-eyed.

Inspired by the night sky, the range features a palette of midnight blue, purple, and white, and is accented with glittery “constellations.”

If you aren’t already starstruck, a few pieces from the capsule even sport an adorable whale swimming in an ocean that’s lit by the stars.

Starbucks Korea seems to do its drinkware right—previously, it launched a marble-themed collection any Kinfolk fan would appreciate.

Fila’s Jacket Looks Strikingly Similar To That Of Food Delivery Brand Foodpanda

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 15:05

Apparel and footwear company Fila is one of those brands that has managed to create sportswear pieces that double as casual wear.

The result is a range of athleisure apparels that has become sought after by hypebeasts. One jacket, in particular, has managed to catch the attention of the internet.

Twitter user ‘xavierlur’ amusingly pointed out the ‘Fila Black Line Levi Overhead Jacket With Reflective Panel In Pink’, discovered on ASOS, bears an uncanny resemblance to the official jacket worn by employees of the food delivery company Foodpanda. Both apparels come in a similar gray and pink colorway.

Fila’s version, apparently inspired by key styles from the 80s and 90s, has functional pockets with reflective bottom panel and is priced at S$151 (US$111).

Twitter user ‘xavierlur’ shared the image of the Fila jacket with the caption, “This reminds me of Foodpanda? Haha omg.”

See the similarities below.

Designers, This Tricky Typography Test Challenges How Well You Know Your Type

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 15:05

London-based designer Matej Latin has created a fun and interesting game that not only helps you learn more about typography, but also tests how well you know your type.

This ‘Font Memory Game’ was initially created as an educational tool for Better Web Type—a free online typography class for designers. It works similar to your old school memory game of images, but has letters inserted in place of graphics.

“Recognizing different styles of fonts is one of the most challenging parts of typography. This game helps you train your eyes to notice the smallest details,” reads its website.

Players can choose between varied levels of difficulty. Players are given 25 moves to match 10 sets of letters, while racing against the clock.

It may sound easy, but non-designers would probably find this exceptionally tricky, especially when it comes to noticing or remembering nuances in details.

Try your hand at the challenge here.

Today I launched another typography learning game, the ✨ Font Memory Game ✨. It comes in two difficulty levels, rewards and a cool giveaway. How fast can you solve the Font Memory Game?

Samsung Has Created An Unbreakable, Flexible OLED Smartphone Display

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 15:05

While there exists smartphones covers and even “airbags” to shield your gadget against cracks, drops, and scratches, this unfortunate damage to your device screen might eventually become a thing of the past.

Samsung Display has announced an unbreakable smartphone panel that has managed to withstand arduous strength tests based on military standards issued by the US Department of Defense.

The panel has been certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories), which is the authorized testing company for OSHA—the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the US Department of Labor.

Unlike current flexible displays that have a glass-covered window attached to the display, which is breakable upon serious impact, this recently-developed flexible OLED panel comes with “an unbreakable substrate and an overlay window securely adhered to it.”

“The fortified plastic window is especially suitable for portable electronic devices not only because of its unbreakable characteristics, but also because of its lightweight, transmissivity and hardness, which are all very similar to glass,” explained Hojung Kim, general manager of the Communication Team at Samsung Display Company, inside the press release.

The panel was subjected to a drop test conducted at 1.2 meters (approximately four feet) above ground, 26 times consecutively, plus additional high (71 degrees) and low (-32 degrees) temperature assessments.

Samsung Display announced that it “continued to function normally with no damage to its front, sides or edges.”

“Even in a subsequent 1.8M (nearly 6 feet) drop test – significantly higher than the US military standard – Samsung Display’s unbreakable panel operated normally with no sign of damage,” declared the brand.

In addition to smartphones, Samsung aims to apply the display to other feasible markets, such as display consoles for vehicles, mobile military gadgets, compact game consoles and tablet PCs to support e-learning.

How to add content inbetween node fields on node creation?

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 14:40

I have a node called survey. Inbetween fields I want arbitrary text. The text is not associated with a field. I tried adding a "group", but could not find a way to add html. Then I looked at adding some kind of plain text field, but also no luck.

I'm sure I've done this using groups in the past, but I just can't seem to find out where to do it. Any ideas?

And just to be clear: - I have a node called survey - It has fields on it like "name" and "email" address - Inbetween name and email, I want, for example, to show an image and some text. I want to be able to enter the html to do this, but not sure how to add it?

In code, I would just add a type "#markup", but how do you do this via the interface?

Per language menu item settings in node forms

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 14:40

I'm working on a drupal 8 website. On every node the admin can choose wether or not to show a node in the main menu, and where it should be placed. This works great with the menu settings node form shown on every node edit page.

But at the moment I'm transforming the site to a multilingual website all is fine and via the menu settings node form it is possible to change the menu title but I can't choose to show a node in the menu for one language only.

So for example, I have a about England page that I want to show in the menu of my English site only and not in the menu of my Dutch site.

I thought it might be possible to only create an English node for this. But when I choose to add this English node to the menu it is shown in both my Dutch and English site even though there is no official Dutch version of the node. It's not official because I can't find it in the admin/content view but if you try to edit or show it it is there for some reason.

So for example when I create an English node with nid 62. When you want to see this you go to /en/node/62 but the url /node/62/ is also available and this is where the menu item on the Dutch site points to.

I also tried to have the node in both languages and unpublish one of them but then the menu item is removed from both menus.

Hope someone has a solutions for this, any suggestion is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Simple OAuth Role assignment within a Scope

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 14:40

I have a web app that has multiple scopes under a single OAuth consumer. I want the user's Drupal role to be used when logging in.

In simple OAuth, I have created 1 consumer that has 2 scopes: editor_user and regular_user.

I run oauth/token with grant_type=password, this returns a token that covers the authenticated, editor_user and regular_user roles.

When logging in as a user with role regular_user and forcefully setting the scope to editor_user, the user role gets set to editor_user !

This seems highly unsafe. User roles need to be properly enforced on the backend.

I would expect the Drupal backend to correctly check for a user's roles, and ignore any scopes that do not match. Regardless of whether the consumer itself is allowed access to more scopes than a user.

Is there a way of restricting the token to the user's role within a scope that can contain multiple?

So, if a regular_user authenticates, but a front-end user manipulates the request, still only the role of regular_user is assigned to him? Not the roles that are defined in the scope?

Additional information

If I request a list of articles, as a regular user with scope properly set to regular_user, I see the articles (except for a field for which regular users don't have view permissions, thanks to field_permissions module).

When setting the scope for a regular user to editor_user, I don't receive any articles. Not sure if this is thanks to a security mechanism or due to a bug.

My reasoning would be that the editor_user scope does not match the user's assigned roles and hence gets removed. Which leaves an empty scope and ... ? gives the same permissions as for anonymous users? Not sure about this. Anonymous users should see the article list too, though.

How to get the label values for list fields in Twig?

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 14:40

I'm trying to fetch the label of the list and display it on the twig template.

Using node.field_list.value outputs the key value. I tried using node.field_list.label but it returns empty. I tried using node.field_list.title, node.field_list.0.label or node.field_list[0]['#markup'] but it still returns empty on the twig template
